I know the third season is coming out soon, but I haven’t watched the first two so…now’s a good time, right?
I understand the feeling of losing old friends all too well. Finding new friends with the same interests can be difficult. Especially if that interest is something niche, like karuta or anime…
While I understand Taichi is just jealous and wants Chihaya’s attention, that was super rude to just push Wataya into the mud like that. But I think the most remarkable thing is Chihaya’s response. Peer pressure is difficult to go against, especially at a young age when you don’t want to be left out and you care about how others perceive you. I like that Chihaya is bold enough to be different.
He plays karuta with such intensity and passion, you’d think he was a completely different person. Not only must he have a really good memory, but his hand-eye coordination must be insane.
Usually I kind of roll my eyes when the anime title is mentioned in the anime (unless it’s the name of the main character) but this was actually one of the purest and most wholesome things I’d ever heard.
This is the first time in a while that I’ve felt like I got an hour’s worth of content in a third of the time. And the best part of binging is that I don’t have to wait another week for the next one!
